Over 1000 young people took part in Flying Futures NCS programme this Summer. They spanned across North Yorkshire, East Riding and as far as Stockton-on-Tees.
The participants all undertook Phase 3 Social Action projects in their local communities and wow were we amazed with the diversity of the projects. We had community garden renovations in Stockton, care packages for the homeless in Beverley and gig nights for mental health awareness in Scarborough to name just a few.
Throughout the programme young people are encouraged to fundraise to support their social action activities and raise funds towards their chosen charities. This year has seen over an incredible £11,000 raised towards these great causes. All through the hard work and dedication of the NCS participants themselves.
We at Flying Futures are so proud of all the young people that completed the programme with us this Summer and want to say a say a huge well done.
Check out the video below that was made as part of their social action project by one of our NCS Harrogate groups. As they hit the street of Leeds armed with hundreds of flowers and a message of body confidence.
