Thanks to funding from the Department for Education Social Mobility Opportunity Area Fund for Doncaster, EXPECT Youth are delivering a programme of fun, FREE activities for children and young people across many areas of Doncaster.
Children and young people will be able to attend activities FREE of charge. Activities are designed to help get them active and build essential life skills whilst having fun throughout the school holidays! The wide range of FREE activities are available mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday throughout the six-week school holidays.
EXPECT Summer is being delivered in partnership by Club Doncaster Foundation, Flying Futures, EPIC, Doncaster Culture Leisure Trust, Active Fusion, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and dozens of voluntary youth organisations that are part of EXPECT Youth.
So, what will the programme consist of? EXPECT Summer includes weekly camps, as well as daily specific sports, arts, culture and educational activity sessions. These will take place in a number of areas including Thorne, Moorends, Hexthorpe, Balby, Edlington, Conisbrough, Denaby, Rossington and Mexborough.
EXPECT Youth Strategic Development Director, Peter Norman, said; “We are committed to creating opportunities for children and young people to lead a healthy, active lifestyle that will help them unlock their talent and fulfil their potential. EXPECT Summer activities will help aid the development of their essential life skills to help them deal with the challenges of everyday life at school, college and employment.”
