I joined Flying futures in January 2018 as Chief Executive Officer after working for a large national social business for the past ten years. My career has always been working with or for young people and communities and so the chance to lead an organisation such as Flying Futures was one that I jumped at when the opportunity presented itself.
I am a big believer that opportunities develop people and the more opportunities young people are exposed to in their lives, the more they will develop the resilience and character which is needed to navigate their way into adulthood.
I started my working life in FE education where I was involved in Sports Development, Outdoor Education and Lecturing before moving onto an infrastructure organisation in the youth sector. I have spent time working in children’s homes, crisis placement centres and running community programmes before moving into my last role where I led large scale national programmes delivering through supply chains models and working in partnerships with both Private and Voluntary sector partners.
I am excited to see what the future holds for Flying Futures and welcome the opportunity to have discussion with partners and organisations who share a similar vison and want to be proactive in helping Young People and Communities succeed.
