HeadStrong is a programme which uses the power of sport and physical activity in addition to the application of insightful and informal discussions to support the mental wellbeing of young people. The programme takes participants through a personal and group journey to a better wellbeing mentally and physically.
Over the span of six weeks we aim to bring the participants weekly insightful sessions that will help explore and navigate their way through a busy and sometimes overwhelming society as a young adult. By having these informal conversations around confidence, self-esteem and positivity, we hope to bring self-awareness to the decisions young people make that help create a healthy lifestyle and positive state of mind.
In small groups participants will undertake a combination of theory and practical tasks over 6 sessions, over a period of 6 weeks. Each session will take between 1 – 1.5 hours. Participants work through the HeadStrong workbook which is personal to them, interact with the wider group through informal discussions and engage in physical activity and exercise through the introduction into new activities. Physical activities are focussed on developing confidence, leadership, empowerment and general fitness whilst the theoretical element to the programme lends a focus to wellbeing, journaling and state of mind.
